The Parish is divided into three wards which have serving parish councillors in addition to serving Borough and County Councillors for the Parish. Click here to see a map of the parish divided into the three wardsYour Parish Council meets in the Parish Council office at 7.30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month except for August and January .  Parishioners are welcome to attend and to speak in the Public Session. Minutes of these meetings are available to download - see below and are available from the Parish Office and in the foyer of the Library in Tobyfield Road.  Bishop's Cleeve Parish Council is a member of  The Gloucestershire Charter

The Parish Council operates on a Committee Basis.  With each Committee having delegated authority to make decisions and spend an allocated budget (which is agreed by the Parish Council during December/January each year).  Each Committee can have up to 7 members elected to it (which takes place at the annual meeting in May of each year).  There must be at least 3 members in attendance to go ahead with a Committee meeting. The Powers and Duties that the Parish Council can use, or delegate to its committees, are restricted by Law.

Quality Council Status awarded to Bishop's Cleeve Parish Council.

Following the submission of a large portfolio of evidence of good practice, Bishop's Cleeve Parish Council have been awarded Quality Council Status.

 The Panel who judged the quality of the work of the Parish Council were VERY impressed by the activity and community commitment demonstrated by the Parish Council.  

The Parish Council started looking at attaining Quality Council Status in 2003 and have adopted best practice ideas along with developing its communication methods, website and staffing expertise.

The Award was presented to Councillor Peter Lightfoot, Chair of the Parish Council by Kim Bedford, County Secretary of Gloucestershire Association of Town and Parish Councils.

Bishop's Cleeve Parish Council is the 2nd Town/Parish in the Borough of Tewkesbury to obtain this standard.  The Parish will need to make a re-submission in 2015.
