•The co-operative of Gloucestershire artists have been lent the old sweet shop in Tarling’s Yard as a gallery for the summer.  To spread the happiness, the Happy Gallery is holding a competition – can you name the original artist who painted their ‘Painting X’. They are offering a prize of a £20 voucher, and dinner for two at the nearby Blue Wave Bistro to the lucky winner drawn from a hat. The Gallery is open Fridays and Saturdays throughout the summer and often offers the chance to meet and watch an artist at work.   Displays are constantly changing, and you might get to see a masterpiece in the making!  Enquiries can be made at: happy.gallery@yahoo.co.uk, or by phoning  0777 6441203 / 01684 773203.

•Bishop's Cleeve W.I. ran a Garden Party on Wednesday 16th July in aid of the Cobalt Unit.   £238.00 was made during the day and they would like to thank everyone for coming along and giving so generously.  It was a lovely day when lots of people donated raffle prizes and some cakes, some cakes went with their coffee or tea, with those left over being bought to take home and there was a Bring & Buy table.  It was so nice to see so many people, neighbours, friends and W.I. ladies.  This Garden Party has been held at 10 Green Meadow Bank, Bishop’s Cleeve for the last 16 years and each year it gets better.
