The Community Engagement Committee are looking at ways the Parish Council and the Community can work together. The Parish Council have supported the local Chamber of Commerce with grants to the Street Fair and the Christmas Lights. These two projects help bring visitors and increase tourism into the Village.  The Street Fair also gives grants to local charities and the Parish Council are very pleased to be able support both of these projects.  The Parish Council would welcome any feedback from members of the public.

The Parish Council would like to hear from any community groups that offer activities within the Village or organisations that promote Bishop’s Cleeve.  There is now a graffiti board in the Parish Office for groups or organisations to register their contact details which will then be transferred onto the Community Information page on the Bishop’s Cleeve Parish Council web site as well as being used in leaflets and forthcoming initiatives being planned by the Parish Council or alternatively organisations can email assistant@bishopscleevepc.org

Youth Engagement:

The Parish Council have secured funding  to replace the universal youth service that the County Council has cut from 30th June 2011.  The Community Engagement Committee have agreed a service level agreement with Young Gloucestershire to provide  youth club sessions at the Community Building and the sports field Pavilion.   The Community Engagement Committee have also negotiated with Gloucestershire Play rangers to provide free outdoor sessions at Finlay Way play area on Thursday evenings 6 to 8pm.  Play rangers are experienced in working with young people up to the age of 19, and will be able to provide lots of different activities or just a place to talk and hang out.   In addition a grant has been given to Cleeve Colts football Club to enable more training sessions to be held at the Sports field Astro.
